COMPOSTING AT GORILLAS
We’re proud to partner with Groundcycle, a NYC-based grassroots composting crew. In 2020, Groundcycle founder Vivian Lin found a gap in NYC’s composting infrastructure and decided to take action. She created a bin swap program where Groundcycle members pick up compost bins from hundreds of New Yorkers and simultaneously drop off fresh produce from local & organic farms.
In just a few weeks, they have helped Gorillas divert over 1,000 pounds of organic waste from landfill. Groundcycle delivers our compost to local farms, which is then broken down into nutrient-dense material and used in soil.
